The All Progressives Congress has disqualified Hon. Idu Igariwe from participating in the party’s House of Representatives primary election for the Afikpo/Edda Federal Constituency in Ebonyi State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The development was contained in a statement released by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, following the party’s screening exercise for National Assembly aspirants across the country.
According to the APC, the screening process was conducted in line with the party’s established procedures and guidelines to determine the eligibility of aspirants seeking to contest in the forthcoming primaries.
Hon. Idu Igariwe, who contested for the Afikpo/Edda Federal Constituency seat, was listed among aspirants marked “not cleared” by the screening committee.
The party, however, did not provide detailed reasons for the disqualification of the former lawmaker.
The APC screening exercise is part of preparations for its National Assembly primaries ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.
