Abakaliki FC has confirmed the retention of 26 players as preparations intensify for the 2026/27 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.
The announcement was made following a management meeting and was contained in a statement issued by the club’s secretary, Barr. Chris Akukwe.
The club, popularly known as the De Rice Boys, has scheduled players’ return to camp for July 25, 2026, in line with its previously announced resumption date. Pre-season training is expected to begin on July 27, 2026, as the team ramps up preparations for the new NNL campaign.
Management urged all retained players to report to camp as scheduled to commence preparations aimed at securing a successful season in Nigeria’s second-tier football league.
