Nwifuru Replies Cubana Chief Priest: ‘I Don’t Have Time for Him’

Date:

Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has responded to criticism from popular socialite and businessman Paschal Okechukwu, widely known as Cubana Chief Priest, saying he has no time to engage with him.

Governor Nwifuru made the remark while speaking at an event in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, amid an ongoing controversy over comments made by Cubana Chief Priest about his administration.

Cubana Chief Priest had called on Governor Nwifuru to resign, questioning the achievements of the Ebonyi State Government and asking why major projects had allegedly not been commissioned by the President or other state governors after about three years of Nwifuru’s administration.

The comments sparked reactions from political figures in Ebonyi State, including the member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Chinedu Ogah.

Ogah had criticised Cubana Chief Priest over his remarks, arguing that the socialite lacked electoral value and political relevance to assess or discredit the performance of Governor Nwifuru.

Reacting to the controversy, Governor Nwifuru dismissed the socialite’s comments and said he was not interested in engaging him.

“I don’t have time for Cubana Chief Priest. He’s a mere attention-seeker and an individual of no consequence. However, if I remember him, I feel sorry for him,” Nwifuru said.

The governor’s response comes as debate continues over the performance of the Nwifuru administration, particularly its projects, infrastructure development and other achievements across Ebonyi State.

The exchange between the governor, Cubana Chief Priest and Ogah has continued to generate reactions, particularly among residents and political observers in Ebonyi.
