There was a brief moment of panic on Monday at the Old Government House in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, after a stray dog entered the premises, causing fear among workers and visitors.
The incident reportedly occurred during official working hours when the dog, described by witnesses as aggressive-looking, wandered into the Government House complex along Ogoja Road.
The unexpected presence of the animal disrupted activities at the government facility, with some workers hurriedly moving to safer areas while others tried to monitor the situation and prevent the dog from causing further disturbance.
A source within the Government House disclosed that the owner of the dog had not been identified as of the time of the incident. The animal was said to have appeared confused while moving around the premises in search of a way out.
Efforts were reportedly ongoing to safely remove the stray dog from the Ebonyi Government House environment and restore normal operations.
