Ebonyi State Governor, Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has commissioned a newly constructed ultra-modern administrative complex at the Abakaliki Local Government Council headquarters.
The commissioning was held during the flag-off of the APC campaign for the August 22, 2026 Abakaliki Local Government Area election, where the party formally presented its flag to its chairmanship candidate, Hon. Chidiebere Aloh, and his running mate.
Governor Nwifuru, represented at the event by his Deputy, Princess Patricia Onyemaechi Obila, commended the Abakaliki LGA Chairman, Chief Ebere Nwogba, for delivering the administrative complex. He said the project reflects the administration’s People’s Charter of Needs agenda and its focus on infrastructure and improved public service delivery.
The governor also thanked APC leaders, stakeholders and grassroots supporters across Abakaliki LGA for their support and mobilisation. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to projects and policies aimed at improving the welfare of residents across Ebonyi State.
Speaking at the event, the State APC Chairman, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, described Abakaliki LGA as strategically important to the political development of Ebonyi State. He said the APC-led administration had continued to prioritise the welfare and development of the people of the area.
The Chairman of the State APC Local Government Campaign Council, Amb. Frank Nchita Ogbuewu, alongside Chief Ebere Nwogba and Hon. Emma Uguru, pledged strong support for the party and expressed confidence in delivering overwhelming votes for APC candidates in the local government.
Other prominent stakeholders, including Rt. Hon. Joseph Ununu, Senator Sylvanus Ngele, Dr. Mathew Uguru, Engr. Mbam Stanley Lebechi, Comrade Chinedu Emerike and Hon. Mrs. Franca Okpo, commended Governor Nwifuru for his development initiatives across Abakaliki and pledged their support for the APC.
In his remarks, APC chairmanship candidate for Abakaliki LGA, Hon. Chidiebere Aloh, thanked the party leadership, Governor Nwifuru and the electorate for the opportunity to contest the election.
Aloh promised to build on existing development efforts and promote sustainable grassroots development if elected. He identified security, education, infrastructure and rural development as key priorities of his proposed administration.
He also pledged to implement the Governor’s People’s Charter of Needs at the grassroots level, assuring residents that his administration would operate an inclusive and transparent government where all communities and residents would have a voice.
Expressing his appreciation for the opportunity to represent the APC, Aloh said the party’s flag was a significant responsibility to him, his family, his community and the people of Abakaliki LGA.
He further promised to work closely with stakeholders and ensure that the people of Abakaliki Local Government Area are carried along in governance and development decisions.
