According to the gist wey dey make rounds, Mbam dey attend to a visitor connected to former President Goodluck Jonathan — with some versions of the story even claiming say na Jonathan himself he dey receive — when news of the governor’s directive allegedly reach am.

The official statement from Governor Nwifuru’s office, however, no mention Goodluck Jonathan.
The statement, signed by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Dr. Monday Uzor, simply announced Mbam’s immediate removal from office and directed him to hand over government property in his possession, including his official vehicle.
He was also told to transfer his responsibilities to the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Works pending further instructions.
