Obasi Victor Nnanna, a student of King David Gifted Academy (KDGA), Abakaliki, has emerged as one of Nigeria’s outstanding performers in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), scoring an impressive 356 marks.
Nnanna, who recorded the highest UTME score in Ebonyi State, achieved the feat with remarkable performances in key subjects, scoring 98 in Mathematics, 98 in Physics, 91 in Chemistry, and 69 in English Language.
Beyond his JAMB success, the young academic has built a strong reputation for excellence throughout his secondary school journey. His records at King David Gifted Academy show consistent academic brilliance, as he maintained first position from Junior Secondary School 1 (JSS1) through Senior Secondary School 3 (SS3), never recording a cumulative average below 95 per cent.
Described as a passionate learner and lover of books, Nnanna has participated in several academic competitions at local and national levels, earning recognition for his intellectual ability and dedication to learning.
His outstanding academic performance and leadership qualities earned him the position of Senior Prefect of King David Gifted Academy, Abakaliki. He also serves as the Honourable Speaker of the Ebonyi State Children’s Parliament.
Known among peers for his exceptional problem-solving skills, particularly in mathematics, Nnanna has been celebrated as a “walking calculator” because of his ability to solve complex mathematical problems with ease.
The school’s principal, Rev. Sis. Dr. Onyeukwu Veronica E., described Nnanna’s achievement as a product of discipline, consistent learning, strong character, and commitment to academic excellence.
