NDC Supporters Demand Transparency Over Ebonyi Central Senatorial Primary Results

Date:

Supporters of Architect Christian Asaga Nwali, popularly known as C-Sagas, have appealed to the leadership of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) to ensure fairness and transparency in the outcome of the Ebonyi Central Senatorial District primary election.

The appeal follows the party’s primary election conducted on May 29, 2026, with supporters urging the national leadership to provide a clear and official position on the results of the exercise.

According to members of the support group, figures collated from the four local government areas within Ebonyi Central Senatorial District indicate that Nwali secured 1,517 votes, while his rival polled 136 votes.

The supporters expressed confidence in Nwali’s performance during the primary and called on the party’s leadership to uphold democratic principles by ensuring that the final declaration reflects the votes cast by delegates.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Benjamin Chukwu urged the NDC national leadership, including senior party officials, to carefully review the election results and maintain the credibility of the party’s internal electoral process.

He noted that transparency in handling the Ebonyi Central Senate primary would strengthen public trust in the party and reinforce confidence among members and supporters.

“The NDC is an emerging political force, and Nigerians expect the party to demonstrate transparency, fairness, and accountability in its internal affairs,” Chukwu said.

He further maintained that Nwali enjoyed widespread support among delegates across the senatorial district and expressed optimism that the party would conclude the process in line with its constitution and established guidelines.

The group also appealed to party faithful to remain calm and avoid actions capable of disrupting the collation and verification process, while allowing the appropriate party organs to complete their responsibilities.

As of the time of filing this report, the Nigeria Democratic Congress had not released an official statement confirming the final outcome of the Ebonyi Central Senatorial District primary election.
