The spotlight fell on Ebonyi State at the Nigeria Pride Awards 2025, where Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru was honoured alongside other distinguished Nigerians for their outstanding contributions to national development.
The prestigious ceremony, which coincided with Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary, celebrated leaders, innovators, and change-makers whose work continues to inspire unity and progress across the country. Governor Nwifuru, widely recognised for his people-focused leadership in Ebonyi, dedicated his award to the citizens of the state. Speaking at the event, Minister of Information, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, and Senator Ireti Kingibe echoed similar sentiments, stressing that Nigeria’s progress depends on the active role of citizens, not just leaders. Founder of First Green White Resources, Mr. Bonaventure Melah, also underscored the importance of patriotism and accountability, urging Nigerians to support one another in building the nation.
