Ebonyi Police Bust Kidnap Syndicate, Recover 5 Stolen Cars in Daring Operation

The Ebonyi State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of four suspected kidnappers and the recovery of five stolen vehicles during a coordinated operation.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Joshua Ukandu, operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Squad first apprehended Chinedu Okorie and Okpaga Chibueze at Nwagana Guest House, Umuhuali, Ishielu LGA, where a Lexus car (Reg. No. LSR 895 DB) was seized.

Their confessions led detectives to Abuja, resulting in the arrest of Stanley Benson Agada and Joshua Noah Olatunji. Police also recovered four additional stolen vehicles:

  • Toyota Sienna Bus (Reg. No. RSH 196 DF)
  • Toyota Venza (Reg. No. LXR 272 JH)
  • Toyota Highlander Jeep (Reg. No. LSD 589 JX)
  • Toyota Corolla (Reg. No. KWL 141 CE)

The vehicles have been positively identified by victims of kidnapping, and arrangements are underway to return them after due process.

Ukandu stated that investigations are ongoing to track down other fleeing members of the kidnapping syndicate. The suspects will be charged to court once investigations are concluded.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Adaku Uche-Anya, reiterated the command’s commitment to combating crime, restoring peace, and ensuring the safety of residents. She also urged the public to provide timely information to support police efforts.
