Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State, Southeast Nigeria, has extended financial and food support to over 90 families affected by recent flooding and windstorm disasters. Each household received ₦500,000 and bags of rice to help cushion the hardship caused by the incidents.
The relief distribution took place at the Ebonyi State Ministry of Human Capital Development, where the Commissioner, Mrs. Ann Aligwe, represented the Governor. She noted that the assistance aims to cushion the devastating effects of the incidents that struck Ndieze Inyimegu and Amegu communities on May 26 and 27, 2025.
“This intervention will go a long way in supporting the recovery process for the victims,” Mrs. Aligwe stated, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to its People’s Charter of Needs agenda.
One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Nwulegu Ikechukwu, speaking on behalf of others, expressed gratitude to the Governor, emphasizing that the relief effort demonstrates the government’s dedication to the welfare of its citizens.
The initiative was carried out in collaboration with the Ebonyi State Emergency Management Agency (EBSEMA).
