In a remarkable effort to combat hunger and poverty, the Ezeokechima Pacesetters Association (EPA) has distributed food relief worth N15 million to over 500 widows and underprivileged women in Ugwulangwu community, Ohaozara Local Government Area, Ebonyi State.
The association, known for its commitment to community welfare, has also constructed 15 houses for the less privileged and continues to sponsor health initiatives, including medical outreaches and major surgeries.
Speaking on the initiative, Chief Uneke Paul, Media Director of EPA, emphasized the group’s long-standing dedication to improving lives in the community.
“We have made significant contributions to our community, including building over 15 houses for the less privileged and supporting healthcare by funding 32 major surgeries,” he stated.
“Recognizing the severe hunger affecting our people, we decided to invest over N15 million to provide food relief. This is just the beginning, as we hope to do even more in the future to ensure hunger becomes a thing of the past in Ugwulangwu Ezeokechima.”
Prince Nwigwe Chibuzo, Chairman of the association’s Board of Trustees, highlighted the urgency of addressing food insecurity, stressing the importance of community support.
“Food scarcity is a major issue, and we believe that those who have should share with those in need. While we have focused on medical outreach in previous years, we decided to diversify this year by distributing food items to ease hunger and poverty in our community.”
This humanitarian intervention underscores the vital role of community-driven initiatives in addressing social challenges and improving livelihoods.
