Political stakeholders and Ebonyi State indigenes living in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, have declared their support for President Bola Tinubu and Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru, endorsing both leaders for second terms ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was announced during a well-attended gathering in Abuja on Saturday, where members of the Ebonyi community, political leaders, youth groups and cultural organisations expressed confidence in the leadership of Tinubu and Nwifuru..
The event was organised by the FON Youth Movement, Abuja Chapter, in partnership with the Ebonyi State Community in the FCT. It attracted key political figures from the state, including the three senators representing Ebonyi and all six members of the House of Representatives from the state.
Addressing participants, speakers attributed their endorsement to what they described as the significant achievements recorded under President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Governor Nwifuru’s People’s Charter of Needs development programme.
A formal motion endorsing the two leaders for re-election was moved by the Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate, Onyekachi Nwebonyi, who represents Ebonyi North Senatorial District. The motion was seconded by Chinedu Ogah.
The motion received unanimous approval from attendees, who maintained that retaining both leaders in office would ensure continuity of ongoing development projects and governance reforms at the federal and state levels.
Supporters at the gathering insisted that sustained leadership would further advance infrastructure development, economic growth and the implementation of policies aimed at improving the welfare of Nigerians and the people of Ebonyi State.
