A coalition of women under the United Ebonyi Central Women for Positive Change has called on Dr. Christian Nwali to officially declare his intention to contest the Ebonyi Central Senatorial seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The group, comprising women leaders, professionals, traders, farmers, and community stakeholders across Ikwo, Ezza South, Ezza North, and Ishielu, also endorsed the 20-day ultimatum earlier issued by the United Ikwo Youths for Good Governance.
In a statement signed by Chairperson Margaret Igwe and Secretary Rosemary Igwe, the group urged women across Ebonyi Central to mobilize and advocate for credible representation in the Senate.
According to the statement, the ultimatum—issued on April 4, 2026, and set to expire on April 24, 2026—reflects growing demand for decisive leadership in the district. The women’s group aligned fully with the youth-led call, describing it as a collective push for transformational governance.
They highlighted Nwali’s track record in community development, citing his contributions to education, healthcare, infrastructure, and social welfare through scholarships, medical outreach, market projects, and empowerment initiatives across Ebonyi State.
Describing him as a qualified architect with a doctorate degree, the group emphasized his blend of academic excellence and practical leadership experience, positioning him as a strong contender for the Ebonyi Central Senate seat.
The women further issued a formal endorsement of Nwali for the 2027 elections, stating confidence in his vision, competence, and commitment to representing the interests of the zone at the National Assembly.
Additionally, the group declared support for Governor Francis Nwifuru and President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections, citing their developmental efforts.
They urged Nwali to respond to the growing calls by officially declaring his candidacy before the deadline, warning that failure to do so could prompt further political action, including financial mobilization to support alternative steps toward securing his candidacy under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
