In a troubling development from Ebonyi State, unknown gunmen have reportedly kidnapped Mrs. Blessing Adagba, the Coordinator of Ngbo Central Development Centre in Ohaukwu Local Government Area.
The incident took place in the early hours of Thursday at her residence in Okposhi Eheku community. Eyewitnesses claim the assailants, dressed in what appeared to be military uniforms, arrived around midnight and forcefully gained entry into her home.
“They asked her to open the door, but she delayed. That’s when they began firing shots into the air. Fearing for her life, she eventually let them in,” a local resident recounted.
The motive behind the abduction remains unclear, but the incident has raised fresh concerns over the safety of public officials and residents in the region.
Confirming the development, Ebonyi State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Joshua Ukandu, said that operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit have been mobilized to track down the suspects and ensure the safe return of Mrs. Adagba.
“Our men are on the ground and investigations are ongoing. We are urging anyone with credible information to come forward,” Ukandu stated.
As of the time this report was compiled, the whereabouts of Mrs. Adagba remain unknown, and no group has claimed responsibility for the abduction.
The incident has sparked tension across Ohaukwu LGA, with community leaders and residents calling for swift government intervention and improved security across the state.
