The UBA Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, has extended its humanitarian outreach to Ebonyi State, as part of its nationwide and pan-African Food Bank and Giving Back initiative.
In Ebonyi, the Foundation provided essential food items and relief materials to the Trinitarian Foundation for Orphans and the Helpless, supporting vulnerable children and underserved groups in the state.
The outreach, carried out between November 2025 and January 2026, reached over 100,000 beneficiaries across Nigeria and 19 other African countries, targeting orphanages, schoolchildren, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and low-income communities to cushion economic pressures associated with the end and beginning of the year.
A statement by the bank reaffirmed UBA Foundation’s commitment to social inclusion, humanitarian support, and community development in areas where the bank operates.
Beyond Ebonyi State, beneficiaries in Nigeria included orphanages and IDP camps in Abia, Lagos, Oyo, Edo, Akwa Ibom, Kogi, Niger, Borno, Taraba, Kebbi, and Jigawa States, reflecting a broad national spread.
Across Africa, similar interventions were implemented in countries such as Ghana, Kenya, Senegal, Uganda, Zambia, Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Liberia, and DR Congo, among others.
Speaking on the initiative, Managing Director and CEO of UBA Foundation, Mrs. Bola Atta, said the Foundation remains committed to year-round humanitarian impact.
“Through our Food Bank and Giving Back initiatives, we aim to restore hope, support physical and cognitive development, and ensure that no community is left behind, regardless of location or economic status,” she said.
The Foundation noted that its interventions go beyond immediate relief, focusing on long-term wellbeing, education, and sustainable development for children and families across Africa.
