Abakaliki FC Confirm January Return Date for Crucial NNL Promotion Chase

Abakaliki FC have confirmed Sunday, January 28 as their official resumption date ahead of the second half of the 2025/26 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.

The Ebonyi-based club, popularly known as the Rice Boys, began a one-week mid-season break on Monday following the conclusion of the first stanza of the league campaign.

Abakaliki FC wrapped up the opening phase of the season with a thrilling 3–3 draw against Osun United in Osogbo, a result that underlined their competitive showing in Conference B.

During the first half of the 2025/26 NNL season, Abakaliki FC recorded: Three wins, Three draws and One loss

The results earned the club 12 points, placing them third on the Conference B standings and firmly in contention for promotion.

With preparations set to resume later in January, Abakaliki FC are expected to intensify training ahead of their return fixture against First Bank FC, as the club looks to maintain momentum and strengthen their promotion ambitions in the Nigeria National League.

The second stanza of the NNL season promises to be decisive, and Abakaliki FC will be aiming to build on their solid first-round foundation.
