Ebonyi State is set to boost its agricultural and industrial profile following the approval of a partnership with Allallinfo Group AD, a Chinese firm, to invest in cotton production and agro-industries.
The deal includes the temporary allocation of part of Ezzamgbo Veterinary School for cotton farms and related agro projects. In return, the Chinese group will provide funding, equipment, agro plants, and access to global markets for Ebonyi cotton.
According to officials, the move positions Ebonyi for Federal Government recognition as a cotton-producing state, a status that could unlock additional funding and interventions for local farmers.
Governor Francis Nwifuru’s administration has repeatedly emphasized the importance of diversifying the state’s economy. This partnership, stakeholders say, could create jobs, open export opportunities, and strengthen Ebonyi’s agricultural base beyond rice production.
