Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, was among the leading voices as governors elected under the All Progressives Congress (APC) paid a courtesy visit to former President Muhammadu Buhari at his residence in Kaduna on Monday.
The visit, which came shortly after the Ramadan and Eid-el-Fitr celebrations, underscored the APC’s renewed commitment to unity and party strength ahead of the 2027 general elections. Governor Nwifuru, widely regarded for his progressive leadership in Ebonyi, stood prominently with his colleagues as they collectively appreciated Buhari’s enduring impact on the party.
Speaking after the closed-door meeting, Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), Hope Uzodinma, highlighted the importance of the visit. He noted that it was a demonstration of respect and loyalty to Buhari, whose legacy continues to shape the party’s vision.
Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, who hosted the meeting, described the gathering as a family reunion of sorts, with leaders such as Nwifuru contributing to robust conversations about the party’s future.
Other governors present included Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya (Gombe), Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq (Kwara), Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa), Nasir Idris (Kebbi), Monday Okpebholo (Edo), Ahmed Usman Ododo (Kogi), Lucky Aiyedatiwa (Ondo), Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), and Hyacinth Alia (Benue). The Deputy Governor of Katsina State and the Minister of Budget and National Planning were also in attendance.
Governor Nwifuru’s presence at the high-level gathering reaffirms Ebonyi State’s firm alignment with the APC’s vision and his personal commitment to deepening political cohesion both within the state and across the federation.
