Date:

As the Muslim community worldwide commemorates Eid-El-Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan, Ebonyi State Governor, Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has called for peace, tolerance, and unity to foster national progress.

In a statement issued on Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Dr. Monday Uzor, Governor Nwifuru underscored Ramadan’s essence as a time for spiritual renewal, patience, and generosity. He encouraged Muslims to take this opportunity to pray for Nigeria’s stability and the success of ongoing socio-economic initiatives.

“The core principles of Ramadan—sacrifice, self-discipline, and devotion—should resonate in our daily lives beyond the fasting period,” Nwifuru emphasized. “Commitment to peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, and a shared vision for national growth is crucial.”

The governor urged citizens to show compassion to the underprivileged, foster societal harmony, and uphold fairness and justice in their communities.

Reaffirming his administration’s dedication to religious inclusivity in Ebonyi State, he stressed that interfaith unity is fundamental for long-term development.

Governor Nwifuru extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Muslim faithful in Ebonyi and across Nigeria on the successful completion of Ramadan, wishing them a joyful and meaningful Eid celebration.

Eid-El-Fitr, a globally observed Islamic festival, signifies the end of Ramadan with prayers, communal meals, and acts of charity, reinforcing values of generosity and gratitude.
