Nigerian Navy to Site Naval Secondary School in Ebonyi – Rear Admiral Oamen

The Director of Naval Transformation of the Nigerian Navy, Rear Admiral Michael Oamen, has revealed that the Navy is set to establish a Naval Secondary School in Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. He made this known during his visit to Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru at the Government House in Abakaliki.

During the visit, Rear Admiral Oamen expressed appreciation for the Governor’s achievements and sought collaboration for the establishment of a Naval presence in the state, emphasizing the Navy’s commitment to education.

During his remarks, Governor Nwifuru welcomed the initiative, highlighting his dedication to advancing education and human capital development in the state. He suggested the establishment of a Naval University to maintain the ethical standards instilled in secondary school students and to offer higher education opportunities to graduates of Naval High Schools.

The Governor encouraged the Navy to expedite the commencement of academic activities in the proposed school, assuring them of the full support and cooperation of the host community and the Ebonyi State Government.
