A prominent business association, the Young Ebonyi Businessmen Forum, has officially endorsed Ebonyi State Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for a second term ahead of the 2027 elections, citing his administration’s achievements in infrastructure development, economic empowerment, and inclusive governance.
The endorsement was announced after the group’s quarterly meeting in Lagos, where members unanimously agreed that the governor’s performance justifies another tenure to consolidate ongoing projects across Ebonyi State.
In the same statement, the forum also threw its support behind Christian Asaga Nwali as the preferred candidate to represent Ebonyi Central Senatorial Zone at the National Assembly in 2027.
The association’s president, Jeremiah Obaji Nworu, praised Governor Nwifuru’s leadership style, particularly his commitment to restoring peace in previously conflict-affected communities. He noted that sustainable development can only thrive in a secure environment, adding that the governor has prioritized stability while channeling resources into infrastructure and human capital development.
According to Nworu, no other governor in the region has matched the level of progress recorded under Nwifuru’s administration within a single tenure, especially in critical sectors such as security, education, and economic growth.
The forum also commended Nwali for accepting the call to serve, describing him as an experienced businessman with the leadership capacity required for effective legislative representation.
The group further urged Ebonyi residents to prioritize competence and experience when electing representatives, stressing that legislative responsibilities demand individuals with vision, exposure, and policy-making expertise.
They concluded by calling on citizens to support both Nwifuru and Nwali, citing their track records and potential to drive sustained development in Ebonyi State.
