Ebonyi Youths Empowered as SERHA Endorses Tinubu for 2027

Date:

The South East Renewed Hope Agenda (SERHA), a political support group aligned with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has commenced grassroots mobilisation efforts across Ebonyi State, with a renewed call for support toward the President’s re-election in 2027.

The group made its position known during an event held on Saturday in Abakaliki, which featured both the inauguration of ward-level leaders and an empowerment programme targeted at young people across the state’s 13 local government areas.

Speaking at the event themed “Empowering the Grassroots“, the National Coordinator of SERHA, Mr. Belusochukwu Enwere, stated that the initiative was aimed at amplifying the developmental achievements of the Tinubu administration and rallying support at the community level.

“We are here to promote the progress recorded so far under President Tinubu’s leadership and to engage Ebonyi’s young population in the journey toward national transformation,” he said.

Mr. Enwere also commended the establishment of the South East Development Commission (SEDC), describing it as a significant policy step with the potential to tackle critical developmental challenges in the region. According to him, the commission’s operations will accelerate regional growth and contribute to national unity.

As part of the programme, more than 1,000 beneficiaries received various forms of financial and material support. One hundred individuals were given ₦200,000 each, while 200 beneficiaries received ₦100,000. Another 300 were awarded ₦50,000, with several indigent participants receiving ₦20,000 to support their businesses.

In addition to the financial aid, SERHA distributed economic tools and equipment such as bags of rice, motorcycles, sewing machines, grinding machines, and hairdressing kits to further enhance local entrepreneurship. The beneficiaries were drawn from different wards and communities across the state.

The Ebonyi State Coordinator of SERHA, Mr. James Alaka, reiterated the importance of the state in the broader Renewed Hope Agenda. He noted that the group now has an established structure comprising 21 state executive members, 273 local government executives, and 351 ward-level representatives.

“Ebonyi is strategic to our mission. With our strong network across the 13 LGAs and 171 wards, we are well positioned to drive this agenda to the grassroots,” Alaka said.

The event marks a significant effort to merge political advocacy with socioeconomic empowerment, reflecting the group’s broader objective of ensuring inclusive participation in governance. As preparations for the 2027 general elections continue to build momentum, SERHA’s activities suggest a deepening of grassroots political engagement in Ebonyi State.
