History was made today in Ebonyi State as residents of the formerly conflict-ridden Uffiom and Ezza-Effium communities, now renamed Alioma and Ezekunna, turned out in large numbers to welcome Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and express heartfelt gratitude for restoring lasting peace to their land.

The atmosphere was filled with joy and celebration as the people hailed the state’s fourth executive governor for his decisive role in ending years of violence and division that once plagued the area. The symbolic renaming of the communities marks a new era of unity, healing, and progress.

During the event, cultural displays, traditional music, and community prayers set the tone for a day that residents described as “the beginning of a new chapter.” Local leaders praised Governor Nwifuru for prioritizing reconciliation and rebuilding trust among the people.

“This renaming is more than a change of identity—it is a rebirth,” said one of the elders. “We have suffered long enough. Today, we celebrate a future filled with peace, love, and development.”

Governor Nwifuru, addressing the crowd, reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to peaceful coexistence and equitable development across Ebonyi State. He called on both Alioma and Ezekunna residents to embrace unity and commit to sustaining peace for future generations.

With heartfelt cheers and renewed hope, the people of Alioma and Ezekunna stood as a testament to what community resilience and responsive leadership can achieve.
