Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has recognized the role of divine providence in his political career, stating that God used Senator David Umahi, the Minister of Works, to elevate him to his current position.
Speaking at an empowerment programme in Ishiagu, Ivo Local Government Area, organized by Hon. Nkemkanma Kama, a federal lawmaker, Nwifuru reflected on his journey to becoming governor. He noted that Umahi played a critical role in his emergence as the state’s leader in 2023.
“At the time God sought someone to facilitate my governorship, Umahi made himself available,” Nwifuru said. He also highlighted Umahi’s influence during his eight-year tenure as Speaker of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly.
The governor praised Umahi as a visionary leader who excelled in fostering peace, infrastructure development, and human capital growth during his time as governor.
