Ezza South LG Proposes ₦9.2 Billion Budget for 2025 Development

Ezza South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State has proposed a ₦9.2 billion budget for the 2025 fiscal year, aimed at fostering growth and development across critical sectors.

While presenting the Budget of Unity to the local legislative council at the council headquarters in Onueke, the Chairperson, Mrs. Euphemia Nwali, emphasized its focus on infrastructure, health, education, empowerment, and other key areas. She noted that this year’s budget surpasses the previous year’s allocation.

The budget breakdown includes:

  • Personnel Costs (General): ₦3,876,954,955.65
  • Personnel Costs (Specific): ₦3,042,331,172.66
  • Overhead Costs: ₦834,623,783.32
  • Capital Expenditure: ₦4,974,953,359.92
  • Total: ₦9,235,459,398.56
  • Mrs. Nwali called on the legislative council to approve the budget, assuring that she would oversee its proper implementation.

Highlighting her achievements in the previous year, she pointed to several completed projects, including the installation of transformers and solar streetlights, road construction, water projects, and the distribution of over 80 vehicles to council vice-chairpersons, councilors, youths, and other stakeholders.

She expressed her appreciation to the councilors for their cooperation, assuring them that the 2025 budget is inclusive, with projects targeted at all communities under the local government.
