Friday marked a vibrant celebration of unity and heritage as the second edition of the OHANIVO Unity Carnival took place at Central School Egunkwor in Onicha Local Government Area, Ebonyi State.

The event, sponsored by Hon. Dr. Kama Nkemkanma, representative of Onicha, Ohaozara, and Ivo Federal Constituency, aims to strengthen community bonds and showcase the cultural richness of the region.

Hon. Kama, while opening the event, emphasized the carnival’s role in fostering collaboration and celebrating shared traditions.

“This carnival is a testament to our commitment to unity, peace, and progress. It reflects our shared values and the strength of our collective heritage,” he said.

This year’s highlights include the grand finale of the Face of Ohanivo Beauty Pageant and the Ohanivo Talent Hunt, underscoring the event’s theme, “Celebrating Our Heritage, Building Our Future Together.”

The carnival also served as a platform to inspire community development, with Hon. Kama describing it as a call to action for unity and cultural preservation.

“Through the music, dance, and art we witness today, let us remember the richness of our heritage and the need to safeguard it for future generations,” he added.

Hon. Kama expressed his gratitude to Ebonyi State Governor, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, for fostering a peaceful environment that allows such events to thrive.

The colorful displays of cultural heritage from Onicha, Ohaozara, and Ivo communities captivated attendees, making the OHANIVO Unity Carnival a remarkable celebration of tradition and togetherness.
