Umahi Praises Successor’s Honorable Governance in Ebonyi

Date:

Former governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi, has expressed his delight that his successor, Francis Nwifuru, continues to show him respect even after assuming office. Umahi conveyed this sentiment while addressing journalists following the conferral of an honorary doctorate degree upon him by Ebonyi State University in Abakaliki.

Reflecting on the rarity of such mutual regard between predecessors and successors, Umahi attributed it to divine intervention and commended Governor Nwifuru for fostering a culture of harmony in the state. He contrasted the prevailing atmosphere of celebration in Ebonyi with the discord seen in other regions.

Umahi lauded Governor Nwifuru for his efforts in promoting peace and pledged his ongoing support for the state’s development. He likened Nwifuru’s governance to building upon his own legacy, expressing pride in his successor’s achievements and referring to him metaphorically as his worthy successor, akin to Solomon following David.

Expressing gratitude for the university’s recognition, Umahi promised to continue contributing to its progress and praised the institution’s accomplishments under its current leadership. He emphasized the importance of collaboration among awardees to bolster the university’s advancement.
