Ebonyi State Governor Approves Pension and Gratuity Arrears for Local Government Retirees (1996–2025)

In a major move to support retirees, the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has approved the payment of arrears of pensions and gratuities for all Local Government retirees covering the period from 1996 to 2025.

Hon. Mrs. Catherine M. Ogbu, Committee Chairman, who announced the directive, emphasized that all retirees must report to the Old Government House Exco Chambers with the following documents to receive payment:

  • Letter of Confirmation of Appointment
  • Letter of Authorization
  • Letter of Administration (for deceased officers)
  • Evidence of Pension or Gratuity Payment
  • Pension I.D. Card
  • Last Gen 35 Form
  • Bank Account Number
  • Last Pay Slip
  • One Passport Photograph

Payment Schedule by Local Government Area (LGA):

  • Abakaliki LGA: October 6–8, 2025
  • Afikpo LGA: October 9, 10 & 13, 2025
  • Ebonyi LGA: October 14–16, 2025
  • Edda LGA: October 17, 20 & 21, 2025
  • Ezza North LGA: October 22–24, 2025
  • Ezza South LGA: October 27–29, 2025
  • Ikwo LGA: October 30–31 & November 3, 2025
  • Ishielu LGA: November 4–6, 2025
  • Ivo LGA: November 7, 10 & 11, 2025
  • Izzi LGA: November 12–14, 2025
  • Ohaozara LGA: November 17–19, 2025
  • Ohaukwu LGA: November 20, 21, 24 & 25, 2025
  • Onicha LGA: November 26–28, 2025
All retirees are advised to report by 9:00 am on their scheduled dates and ensure they have all necessary documentation to avoid delays.
