In a move that underscores his commitment to youth and women empowerment, the Commissioner for Works, Ebonyi State, Engr. Lebechi Mbam, has trained and empowered 26 selected youths and businesswomen across the state as part of activities marking his two years in office.
At a ceremony held to commemorate the milestone, Engr. Mbam provided financial support to the beneficiaries, with empowerment packages ranging from ₦2 million, ₦1.5 million, to ₦1 million respectively. The least number of beneficiaries, who received ₦1 million each, were supported to strengthen their nano businesses.
Notably, after the symbolic presentation of cheques at the event, the beneficiaries received their funds individually — a gesture that drew commendation from attendees for its transparency and efficiency.
Speaking at the occasion, Engr. Mbam highlighted that true leadership lies in “having the right intention, an ear willing to listen, and the right mouth to speak around.” He reiterated his dedication to policies and initiatives that would continue to uplift enterprising citizens and promote sustainable development in the state.
The event was attended by government officials, community leaders, and other stakeholders who lauded the commissioner for his people-oriented leadership and impact over the past two years.
