Members of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly have lauded Governor Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for his remarkable achievements within two years in office, passing a vote of confidence during a plenary session held at the Legislative Complex, Nkaliki Road, Abakaliki.
Presided over by the Speaker, Chief Moses Ije Odunwa, the session highlighted the transformative impacts of Governor Nwifuru’s administration, which marks its two-year anniversary on May 29.
“In the next 48 hours, this administration will be celebrating two years in office, and has made tremendous impacts on the people of Ebonyi State. On June 13, the House of Assembly will also mark two years in office.”— Rt. Hon. Moses Ije Odunwa, Speaker, Ebonyi State House of Assembly.
The Leader of the House, Chief Kingsley Ikoro, commended the Governor’s successes in health, infrastructure, and human capital development, calling on lawmakers to continue working together to fulfill the Governor’s vision. “The People’s Charter of Needs has been a guiding framework for addressing key issues like infrastructure, healthcare, education, and human empowerment. Governor Nwifuru has shown unwavering commitment to improving lives, and we look forward to more progress.”— Chief Kingsley Ikoro, Leader of the House.
Other members echoed this praise. Hon. Ifeanyi Nwakpu (Ikwo North) described the Governor as a “righteous leader” whose projects have visibly improved sectors such as education, agriculture, and health, referencing recent developments at the ICC.
Hon. Mrs. Chinyere Nwogbaga (Ebonyi North East) applauded Governor Nwifuru’s efforts to provide clean water and complete abandoned projects from previous administrations, while also commending the First Lady, Mrs. Mary-maudline Uzoamaka Nwifuru, for her humanitarian work.

From Ezza South, Hon. Friday Ogbuewu expressed pride in the Governor’s leadership, highlighting improvements in peace, education, and healthcare within his constituency.
Other members, including Chief Joseph Ununu, Rt. Hon. Chukwu Arinze Lucas, Hon. Victor Chidi Nwoke, Hon. Oluchukwu Ukie Ezeali, Hon. Aloysius Nwodo, Hon. Celestine Ifeanyi Ogba, Hon. Onyebuchi Ogbadu, and Hon. Stephen Orji Igwe, conveyed their gratitude and pledged support for the ongoing administration.
Speaker Odunwa further urged the government to deepen empowerment initiatives and reiterated the House’s readiness to partner with the executive branch to advance the state’s development. “We acknowledge that many of us represent rural constituencies, and we have been doing our part to realize the administration’s goals. We encourage more deliberate efforts to empower our people,” he remarked.
Following the tributes, the House unanimously passed a vote of confidence in Governor Francis Nwifuru. The motion was moved by Chief Kingsley Ikoro and seconded by Hon. Chikezie Igu (Ohaozara East).
The session concluded with renewed commitment from the legislature to support the Governor’s administration in delivering on the People’s Charter of Needs for the benefit of all Ebonyians.
