In a significant stride towards infrastructural development in Ebonyi State, the construction of the Amagu–Nsokkara road was officially flagged off yesterday by Senator Engr. Kenneth Eze, who represents Ebonyi Central Senatorial Zone.
The flag-off ceremony drew notable dignitaries, including Ebonyi State Chief of Staff, Prof. Emmanuel Echiegu; the State Commissioner for Solid Minerals; the Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi; and other top state executives and political appointees.
The ongoing road project, which begins from Ọnụ-uzo Mbele, is a flagship initiative of Hon. Chita Moses Uchenna, the Development Centre Coordinator of Ezza South East. Dubbed a “gigantic” effort, the project is aimed at enhancing connectivity, boosting local economic activities, and improving transportation for residents of the area.
Speaking during the event, Senator Eze commended Hon. Uchenna for his proactive leadership and dedication to grassroots development. “This is what true representation looks like — bringing government presence closer to the people through tangible projects,” he said.
The Chief of Staff, Prof. Echiegu, described the project as a testament to the current administration’s commitment to rural transformation. He reiterated the state government’s support for initiatives that directly impact the lives of ordinary citizens.
The event was celebrated as a success by the local community and stakeholders, who hailed it as a remarkable achievement and a beautiful discharge of duty by the coordinator, fondly dubbed “Mr. Project” by supporters.
