Ebonyi State Governor Dismisses Two Security Aides Over Gross Misconduct

Date:

Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has approved the immediate dismissal of two senior security aides for gross misconduct. The affected officials are Mr. Nnanna Nwangele, Special Assistant on Airport Security, and Mr. Felix Okemini, Senior Special Assistant on Security (Ebonyi North).

A directive issued on March 18, 2025, orders both officials to handover all government assets in their possession to the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) by 4:00 PM. They have also been banned from Government House and any further participation in state affairs.

This decision follows the recent suspension of three commissioners for absenteeism, reinforcing the administration’s strict stance on discipline and accountability. Governor Nwifuru has repeatedly emphasized that misconduct, negligence, or corruption will not be tolerated in his government.

The dismissal has sparked widespread reactions across Ebonyi State, with some praising the governor’s firm leadership, while others call for more transparency on the circumstances surrounding the decision. Analysts view this as part of a larger strategy to enhance governance and public service efficiency in the state.
