The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nigeria’s Southeast zone has re-elected Dr. Ijeoma Arodiogbu as National Vice Chairman (South East) following a consensus decision reached by APC governors in the region.
The outcome was finalized during the APC Southeast Zonal Congress held in Enugu, where party delegates and stakeholders unanimously adopted a consensus method in line with the party’s constitution.
Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, initiated the dissolution of the previous zonal executive committee, with support from Senator Patrick Ndubueze.
The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, presented the agreed list of candidates, which received overwhelming approval from party members in attendance. Alongside Arodiogbu, other members of the APC Southeast zonal executive include Chief Innocent Itakpa Azuoba as Secretary, Barrister Rex Mayor Ogbonna as Legal Adviser, Hon. Henry Onwughalaonye as Publicity Secretary, Barrister Chima Kenneth Ogbonnaya as Youth Leader, Dr. Nwachukwu representing Persons with Disabilities, Dr. Oby Aji as Woman Leader, and Chief Arinze Ikedife as Organising Secretary.
Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, described the congress as a strong indication of unity and political strength within the APC in the Southeast, while also acknowledging the economic reforms introduced by President Tinubu.
The event attracted top APC leaders and stakeholders, including former Senate President Ken Nnamani, Deputy National Chairman (South) Emma Eneukwu, and several senators, ministers, and members of the House of Representatives.
