The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) has confirmed an emergency power reduction in Ebonyi State following a fault on the Mando–Shiroro transmission line.
In a statement, EEDC’s Group Head of Corporate Communications, Emeka Ezeh, explained that the disruption has reduced electricity supply across key transmission stations in Ebonyi, including Nkalagu and Abakaliki. The National Control Centre (NCC) in Oshogbo directed the limited megawatt allocation to stabilize the grid.
“The NCC has advised EEDC to operate with reduced power allocation at critical transmission points in Ebonyi State,” Ezeh said.
Customers served by EEDC subsidiaries in Ebonyi are experiencing limited electricity as part of the emergency load management. The company apologized for the inconvenience and assured residents that efforts are underway to restore normal power supply.
“We sincerely apologize to our customers in Ebonyi for the disruption and appeal for patience as stakeholders work to resolve the fault and resume regular supply,” the statement concluded.
