The First Lady of Ebonyi State, Chief (Mrs) Mary Maudline Nwifuru, has expressed heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Prince Samuel Ogbu Agom-Eze, a former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant, following his sudden passing.
Prince Agom-Eze, who contested the 2015 Ebonyi State gubernatorial election under the PDP platform, passed away after a brief illness, leaving behind a legacy of public service and community contributions.
During a condolence visit to the Agom-Eze family in Abakaliki on Friday, Mrs. Nwifuru described the death of the late political figure as a significant loss not only to his family but to Ebonyi State as a whole. She urged the bereaved family to take comfort in God, highlighting the impactful life and accomplishments of the deceased.
“Death is an inevitable part of life, and every mortal must face it. Take solace in God, for He is our hope. Ebonyi State Government stands with you in this moment of grief. Your husband’s contributions to society are remembered, and we will not leave you alone,” Mrs. Nwifuru said. She also prayed for the peaceful repose of Prince Agom-Eze’s soul.
On behalf of the Agom-Eze family, Hon. Eze Nwankwo thanked the First Lady for her visit and support during their time of mourning. He noted that Prince Agom-Eze’s death came exactly one year after the passing of their late father, HRH Eze Dr. Agom-Eze, making the loss particularly poignant.
Mrs. Nwifuru was accompanied by female political officeholders and other dignitaries during the visit.
