Gov Nwifuru Urges NIPSS Alumni to Strengthen Governance in Ebonyi

Date:

Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has charged members of the Alumni Association of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (AANI), Ebonyi State Chapter, to deploy their expertise and policy knowledge to strengthen governance across the state.

The governor gave the charge on Wednesday while receiving members of the association at the Government House, Abakaliki.

Governor Nwifuru said as graduates of the prestigious National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), particularly those who completed the Senior Executive Course, the alumni are well positioned to provide strategic direction and practical solutions to policy challenges confronting Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the state.

He noted that their role in enhancing the effectiveness of the civil and public service is critical to the administration’s vision of efficient and forward-looking governance.

The governor particularly congratulated Dr. Sunday Nwangele, former Commissioner for Health in the state, on his successful completion of the NIPSS programme, describing his performance as a reflection of hard work, dedication and commitment to public service.

Governor Nwifuru expressed confidence that Dr. Nwangele would justify the government’s investment by contributing meaningfully to the development of Ebonyi State.

Reiterating his administration’s commitment to capacity building, the governor said the state government would continue to encourage and support Ebonyi citizens willing to participate in professional development and strategic training programmes such as those offered by NIPSS.

According to him, such initiatives align with the administration’s broader goal of building a competent workforce capable of driving sustainable development.

Governor Nwifuru also commended the AANI delegation, led by Senator Christopher Chukwuma Nwankwo, described as the oldest member of the Institute in Ebonyi State, for their words of encouragement and their resolve to place their expertise at the service of the state.

He assured them of the government’s openness to collaborations that would contribute to building a stronger and more effective Ebonyi State.
