Ebonyi Was Largely Ignored Before Tinubu” — Gov Nwifuru Declares

Date:

The Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has received the leadership of the Grassroot Advocacy for Tinubu, led by its Founder, Mrs. Hanmo Akume, at the Government House.

Mrs. Akume is a former First Lady of Benue State and the wife of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF). The visit was aimed at strengthening grassroots mobilization and support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

Speaking during the meeting, Governor Nwifuru expressed appreciation for the group’s unwavering commitment to mobilising support for President Tinubu, describing the President’s leadership as exceptional and impactful across key sectors of the nation’s development.

The Governor noted that Ebonyi State is currently witnessing an unprecedented level of Federal Government presence through projects and appointments, stressing that such interventions were largely absent in the state before the emergence of President Tinubu.

“For the first time, Ebonyi State is experiencing significant Federal Government projects. Today, our state has been remembered with several vital projects and appointments that are already contributing meaningfully to our development trajectory,” Nwifuru said.

He encouraged the Grassroot Advocacy for Tinubu to intensify efforts in sensitising grassroots communities on the achievements of the Tinubu-led administration, particularly targeting youths and women. According to him, the policies and programmes initiated since 2023 are already yielding tangible results.

Governor Nwifuru further acknowledged the economic and security challenges confronting the country but maintained that President Tinubu has demonstrated courage, competence and commitment in steering Nigeria in the right direction, adding that the administration has performed creditably across all sectors of governance.

He reaffirmed the Ebonyi State Government’s commitment to sustained collaboration with the Federal Government to ensure that the dividends of democracy continue to reach every part of the state.

The visit, he said, further underscores the shared resolve to deepen grassroots engagement and consolidate development efforts in Ebonyi State and Nigeria at large.
