Ebonyi Commissioner’s Brother Shot Dead in Suspected Armed Robbery

Date:

Christopher Igwe, the younger brother of Ebonyi State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Uchenna Igwe, has been reportedly shot dead by suspected armed robbers.

The tragic incident happened late Monday night along the Ishieke axis in Ebonyi Local Government Area, according to initial reports.

Confirming the attack, the Ebonyi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Joshua Ukandu, said the shooting took place around 10pm when armed robbers stormed a cooking gas shop in the area. During the sporadic gunfire that followed their operation, Christopher Igwe was fatally hit.
