BREAKING: Man Suffers Acid Attack Allegedly From Girlfriend in Abakaliki

A young man has reportedly been hospitalized after his girlfriend allegedly poured acid on him in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital.

The shocking incident occurred on the night of October 24, 2025, opposite Tycoon Filling Station in Abakaliki.

According to eyewitness Barrister Igboke Justice, who shared the story on social media, he was present at the scene and quickly rushed the victim to Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital (FETHA 1), where he is currently receiving medical attention.

“This young guy was poured acid by his girlfriend last night at opposite Tycoon Filling Station, Abakaliki, in my presence. I rushed him to FETHA 1 hospital where he is currently receiving treatment. Be careful with some girls of this generation,” he wrote.

As of the time of filing this report, details about what led to the attack remain unclear, and authorities have yet to issue an official statement.

The incident has sparked widespread reactions online, with many calling for justice and greater awareness on domestic violence and toxic relationships.
