The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has launched a nationwide initiative to train and empower more than 21,000 unemployed and unskilled Nigerian youths between July and August 2025.
Speaking to journalists at the Ebonyi State Office located at Unity Square Secretariat in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State Coordinator, Mrs. Stella Chukwuekezie, highlighted the importance of the program, which is part of the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative—a project in alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
According to Mrs. Chukwuekezie, the comprehensive empowerment scheme will provide vocational, agricultural, digital, and entrepreneurial training, as well as opportunities in public works sectors. She emphasized that the program is completely free for qualified applicants aged 18 to 40.
Registration for the initiative opened on Monday, July 28, and will close on August 11, 2025. All applications must be submitted via the official NDE online registration portal, reflecting the Directorate’s commitment to digital transformation.
“We are calling on stakeholders across Ebonyi State to encourage eligible young people to seize this life-changing opportunity. Interested applicants should visit www.nderegistrationportal.ng to register,” she urged.
Mrs. Chukwuekezie reaffirmed the Directorate’s dedication to tackling unemployment by equipping youths with practical skills that will enable them to become self-employed and job creators.
“The NDE remains steadfast in reducing unemployment-driven challenges by not just training youths but also empowering them for self-reliance and business creation,” she concluded.
