The South-East zone of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially announced the appointment of Moses Nweze as the new Youth Leader of the region.
This was disclosed in a statement released on Thursday by Prince Ify Chijoke, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the National Vice Chairman of the PDP, South-East Zone. According to the statement, Nweze’s appointment is both timely and well-deserved, given his track record and leadership qualities.
“The Office of the National Vice Chairman, South-East Zone of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is pleased to announce the nomination and unanimous acceptance of Hon. Moses Nweze as the new Youth Leader of the PDP in the South-East,” the statement read.
The decision followed extensive consultations with key stakeholders, ward executives, loyal party members, and leaders across the five South-East states, particularly in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
Popularly known as “Mbaco,” Hon. Moses Nweze is recognized for his character, competence, and commitment to party ideals. He previously served as the Coordinator of Onicha Development Centre and was also a Technical Assistant to former Governor David Umahi. Currently, he leads Internal Security for the “Anyi Ga Emeya” Movement.
His new role as PDP South-East Youth Leader is expected to leverage his experience and dynamic leadership style to mobilize and inspire young party members across the region.
“As a young, visionary leader, he represents the energy, focus, and innovation needed to rally PDP youths and advance the party’s influence in the zone,” the statement added.
The party emphasized that under Nweze’s leadership, youth engagement within the PDP would not only be amplified but strategically driven toward results that strengthen the party’s grassroots presence.
The National Vice Chairman, Hon. Goodluck Chidiebere Egwu, reaffirmed his full support for the new Youth Leader and urged all PDP youth stakeholders across the South-East to unite behind Nweze in his new role.
“Congratulations to Hon. Moses Nweze. We wish him success as he begins this important journey,” the statement concluded.
