Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Nigerian Super Falcons following their triumph at the just concluded 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) held in Morocco.
The Super Falcons defeated host nation Morocco to clinch the championship title for a record 10th time, solidifying their dominance in African women’s football.
Governor Nwifuru, in a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Dr. Monday Uzor, on Sunday in Abakaliki, praised the team’s resilience, patriotism, and unwavering commitment to national pride.
“The Super Falcons have once again proven that Nigeria is truly the giant of Africa. Their historic win is a source of pride and deserves every commendation,” the statement read.
The Governor also lauded the team’s incredible comeback from a 2–0 deficit, expressing confidence that the squad will deliver a similar stellar performance at the 2026 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
