Pentagon Hostel Collapse: Ebonyi Govt Seals Site, Launches Full Investigation

Following the partial collapse of Pentagon Hostel, a privately-owned student lodge opposite Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike Ikwo (AE-FUNAI), the Ebonyi State Government has taken swift action to secure the area and initiate an in-depth investigation.

The Commissioner for Capital City Development, Chief Sunday Inyima, led a team to the site shortly after the incident. The building has been sealed and cordoned off to prevent unauthorized entry and ensure the safety of nearby residents and passersby.

To uncover the root cause of the collapse, a comprehensive investigation has been ordered. This will include a forensic analysis of the site, structural assessments by experts, and interviews with individuals involved in the planning and construction of the building.

His Excellency, Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has reiterated his call for property developers and landlords to engage only qualified and certified professionals in the construction of buildings across the State.

Fortunately, no casualties were recorded in the incident.
