Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru, has described the death of Ex-President Muhammadu Buhari as a monumental loss to Nigeria and its people.

Reacting to the news, Governor Nwifuru said the late President Buhari was a towering figure whose life exemplified selfless service, discipline, and an unwavering dedication to the unity and progress of the nation.

“From his emergence as Military Head of State in 1984 to his historic return as a democratically elected President in 2015, Buhari consistently represented integrity, courage, and simplicity—virtues that resonated deeply with millions of Nigerians,” Nwifuru stated.

“For us in Ebonyi State, President Buhari was not just a national icon; he was a dependable development partner and a genuine friend to our people,” he added.

The tribute was part of a statement issued on Sunday night by his Chief Press Secretary, Dr. Monday Uzor, and made available to journalists in Abakaliki.

Governor Nwifuru also extended his heartfelt condolences to the Federal Government and the people of Katsina State, describing the former president’s passing as a colossal national loss. He prayed for the peaceful repose of Buhari’s soul.
