The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ebonyi State Chapter, has urged authorities to launch a thorough investigation into the tragic killing of 13-year-old Fabian Ugo, a native of Ndioke Nduebor Okpuitumo, allegedly murdered by members of the Operation Udo Ga Achi security outfit in Anambra State.
In a statement made available to the media, Comrade Stephen Maduabuchi Nkoka, NYCN’s Director of Media and Publicity, emphasized the need for a detailed probe and reassessment of the activities of Udo Ga Achi in Anambra.
“We demand justice for this innocent boy. The NYCN will not sit idly by while young people from Ebonyi State are being unlawfully killed by security operatives in a sister state,” Nkoka stated.
The council strongly condemned the incident, describing it as barbaric and unacceptable. They called for the immediate arrest and public prosecution of all those responsible.
Additionally, NYCN stressed that proper burial rites should be conducted for the victim, and the bereaved family should receive due condolences and respect.
The organization also appealed for calm among Ebonyi youths, urging them not to take the law into their own hands or engage in any form of retaliation. The council expressed confidence that the relevant authorities would ensure justice is served.
