Governor Francis Nwifuru has praised the notable advancements recorded in several critical sectors of Ebonyi State, including infrastructure, education, health, and commerce.
He gave the commendation during the Second Anniversary Thanksgiving Service held in Abakaliki on Sunday as part of events marking the upcoming Democracy Day.
Governor Nwifuru attributed the progress to effective policy implementation and strategic planning, noting that the initiatives have yielded positive outcomes for the people of Ebonyi.
Focusing on education, the governor revealed that over 270 students have already been sponsored for Master’s and Ph.D. programs abroad, with plans to expand the number to 300. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to investing in human capital development through quality education.
“Infrastructure is a key area we’ve prioritized,” he added, highlighting ongoing projects designed to improve residents’ quality of life and attract investment.
Speaking on healthcare, the governor announced a N500,000 monthly allowance increment for doctors in state-run general hospitals—a move aimed at retaining skilled professionals and boosting healthcare services.
Governor Nwifuru also acknowledged the efforts of former governors, community leaders, religious figures, and other stakeholders for their roles in driving the state’s development. He encouraged citizens to continue offering prayers for Nigeria’s leadership at all levels.
