Chief Paul Chukwu, head of Goodnews Multipurpose Cooperative Nigeria Ltd, has expressed appreciation to Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, for establishing a stable and supportive environment that enables businesses—particularly in the mining sector—to thrive.
During a briefing in Amaopara village, Oshiri community, located in Onicha LGA, Chukwu spoke about the various contributions his company has made since commencing operations in 2021. He recalled relocating two families living near the mining site and constructing three-bedroom bungalows for each of them in line with the Mining Act.
“In addition to complying with industry regulations, we built a modern bridge that now links residents to their farmlands. Prior to this, access was a major struggle for the people,” Chukwu said.
Highlighting the significance of community cooperation, he noted that peaceful coexistence between firms and their host communities yields long-term mutual benefits. “We’re committed to doing even more in the future,” he assured.
Chukwu also used the opportunity to commend Governor Nwifuru’s leadership, describing his administration as transformative and inclusive. “From security improvements to youth-focused initiatives and infrastructure development, the state has seen progress across the board,” he remarked. “If our constitution allowed for a third term, I’d gladly support Nwifuru to govern for 16 years.”
He emphasized that the mining community has felt the governor’s impact and is optimistic about continued growth under his leadership.
