Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has restated his administration’s unwavering commitment to the welfare and professional growth of Ebonyi State workers, as part of activities marking the 2025 Workers’ Day celebration.
Addressing attendees at the event held at Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium, the Governor emphasized that creating an enabling work environment remains a top priority of his government.
“As Governor, I am fully committed to advancing your welfare, protecting the dignity of labour, and strengthening a civil service system built on fairness, innovation, and productivity,” he stated.
Governor Nwifuru disclosed that his administration has launched a reward mechanism aimed at recognizing and promoting excellence, punctuality, and professionalism among public servants.
He further highlighted strides made in ensuring timely salary payments, expanding staff training opportunities, improving office infrastructure, and reviewing outdated administrative procedures. A major highlight of his address was the introduction of a swift retirement benefits system that ensures gratuities are disbursed within an hour of service exit.
“We are not owing any pensions or gratuities. Our new system ensures that retirees receive their entitlements almost immediately, reducing the burden of long waits and bureaucratic delays,” he affirmed.
The Governor encouraged all workers in the state to match these government efforts with dedication and effective service delivery across sectors.
