A young man from Ebonyi State, Kingsley Emeka Nwoyika, has raised alarm over the brutal killing of his father in their hometown—Umuomara Ndiagu Amagu, located in Ikwo Local Government Area.
The tragic incident reportedly occurred around 6 a.m. on Monday, April 8, 2025, when unknown assailants invaded their residence and murdered his father in cold blood. Describing his late father as a peace-loving man with no known disputes, Nwoyika condemned the act as senseless and unprovoked.
In a public statement, Nwoyika alleged that despite reports to security agencies, no meaningful arrests have been made. Instead, he claims that police officers diverted their attention by targeting innocent villagers while those responsible for the crime remain untouched.
“The people behind my father’s death are still moving freely in the community, while some innocent persons are being wrongfully arrested. There’s no justice in that,” he said.
He also revealed that threats have been issued against him and his siblings for pursuing justice. “We are being intimidated for speaking out, but I cannot be silent. If anything happens to me or my family, the world should be aware,” he warned.
According to Nwoyika, there are attempts by some influential individuals to suppress the case and prevent it from going public. However, he is calling on the Ebonyi State Government, law enforcement agencies, human rights organizations, and community leaders to intervene and ensure that justice is served.
This incident has sparked concern among residents of Ikwo, who are urging authorities to take urgent action to address insecurity and protect the lives of citizens, especially in rural communities.
